As a working farm, we sell animals each year. These sales help to cover the cost of raising these animals, while providing our community with a clean, healthy source of food. We have dairy and meat goats, as well as pigs. In the future we may have poultry available too.
Our goat herd is managed with biosecurity measures and minimal animal movement to reduce the risk of introducing pathogens. We test annually for caseous lymphadenitis (CL), caprine arthritis encephalitis (CAE), and Johne's disease. All breeding does are also tested for Q fever (Coxiella). All test results have been 100% negative for all these diseases, and we will be happy to share these results to those who request it. To view our dairy goats or breeding boers available for sale, please check our sales page or kidding schedule.
Currently we are not licensed to sell meat directly. However we can sell animals and deliver those animals to a custom butcher for processing. This procedure is called an "animal share", in which you are buying the animal or a share of the animal from us, while paying the butcher to process that animal into edible product. We sell goats and pigs on an as available basis as a whole or half. Payments can be made monthly until the animal is ready for processing, or can be made at one time for animals available immediately. If you are making monthly payments, the remaining balance must be paid prior to delivering the animal to the processor. If final payment is not made when the animal is ready, additional charges may apply. Pricing is based on expected yield and processor drop off within 50 miles of our farm. This scheme matches national averages per pound. Additional fees may apply if your chosen processor is beyond 50 miles from our farm, or our time raising the animal is extended. You handle all orders with the processor, including pricing and what cuts you desire. Our involvement ends with the animal being raised and dropped off.
Our animals are currently raised on dry lot with free choice grass hay, supplemented with a pelleted ration to meet all nutritional needs. We also provide fresh foods, such as plants harvested from our garden, for enrichment and well rounded supplementation. Antibiotics and other medications are not used as a regular course of raising our animals. When medications are required for specific health concerns, we use those medications under veterinary supervision, and observe all withdrawal periods as recommended by product manufacturers and scientific studies. Fresh water is provided at all times, and water apparatus are cleaned regularly to maintain healthy conditions. We use smaller feeding pens for supplementation to ensure all animals receive proper rations, while allowing our animals to wander a large lot freely for exercise, proper stimulation and enrichment. If you have any questions about our husbandry, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Pigs: Processed at 15-18 months of age, kune and kune crosses, Anticipated yield approx. 60-80 pounds per whole Current availability: 4 pigs Whole: $450 Half: $250
Meat Goats: Processed at 18-20 months of age, boer and boer crosses, Anticipated yield approx. 60-80 pounds per whole Current availability: 4 goats Whole: $600 Half: $350
Dairy Goat Culls: Producing milk requires breeding goats. While we do take advantage of extended lactations, there are still going to be babies produced. Our dairy goats can produce 2-4 babies each, and it is simply irresponsible to place every baby as a breeding prospect or pet. For those babies that are not suitable for breeding and not placed as pets, we will offer them as part of our animal share program. These goats are lighter than our meat goats, and will not yield as much meat, therefore the pricing is adjusted. If you are looking for quality, lean meat on a budget, this will be the package for you. Anticipated yield is approx. 30 pounds per whole. Halves will not be offered under this option. Current availability: 9 goats Whole: $300
